Minister Macklin’s visit to the Pegasus Riding School

It’s great to be here with Andrew Leigh, our local Member of Parliament for this part of Canberra.
Andrew and I have just been with the children who have learnt so much over this year, riding horses, looking after horses. This is a great example of the things that people will be able to choose to do once we have a National Disability Insurance Scheme choosing these sorts of programs which will improve a child’s life, improve their confidence and improve their capacity as they grow up.
We’re here at Pegasus, riding for the disabled in Holt in the ACT. This is a service that provides an opportunity for kids in Canberra with a disability to learn to ride horses. It brings them out of themselves and gives them the chance to do something they would never otherwise have an opportunity to experience
