What is the recruitment process for these roles?

All applications received by the closing date will be reviewed. Applicants whose skills most closely align the key selection criteria will then be shortlisted. Shortlisted applicants may undergo a panel interview and/or reference checking. Job offers will be made to the successful applicants. Pre-employment checks will also be a requirement of the position.

Do I need to be an Australian citizen to be eligible to apply for a position at the NDIS?

Applicants for NDIS positions must be an Australian citizen.

How do I know what level to apply for if I have not worked in the APS?

Jobs in the APS are classified according to the expected level of work to be undertaken. APS classifications include APS 1-6, Executive Level 1 and 2 and Senior Executive Service Band 1, 2 and 3. For information about the expected capabilities and behaviours required at each level, see the Integrated Leadership System which can be found on the Australian Public Service Commission website – www.apsc.gov.au/learn/integrated-leadership-system.

I will be overseas and have limited access to a computer how can I apply?

In the first instance we encourage you to speak to the relevant contact person. Details of the contact person are contained in the Candidate Information Pack.

Can I apply for multiple roles?

Yes, you can apply for as many roles as you like. You’re required to answer an additional criterion for the role you apply for.

Do I need to provide details for referees?

In your application, you will need to provide the details of two referees who are available to be contacted, should the Selection Committee determine that referees will be sought.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be required to confirm referee details with the Selection Committee. To ensure a timely selection process, please ensure your referees are readily available within a 48 hour period following interview.

I need to amend my contact details, how do I do this?

You can amend your details by emailing or phoning the contact person for these positions. Details of this person are contained in the Candidate Information Pack.

How long will the recruitment process take?

The exact timings will be dependent on the number of applications received. As a guide the NDIS will be trying to work within an 8 week period, to notify successful applicants.

Will I be notified if I have an interview?

You will not be notified unless your application has resulted in you being shortlisted for an interview. Generally, you will be advised if you have an interview within two weeks of the closing date for applications. If you are successful in being shortlisted for interview, a minimum of 48 hours notification will be provided for invitation to attend an interview.

Will I need to undergo a ‘Pre-employment Check’ at the NDIS?

Pre-employment checks are mandatory for positions with the NDIS Launch Transition Agency. These checks may include Police Records Check, Working with Children Check or Health Checks.

Who do I contact to ask further questions about the application process?

The Contact Officer for the position will be the best person to approach for more information. Details of this person are contained in the Candidate Information Pack. If you have specific questions regarding the role, these will then be forwarded to the relevant Contact Officer within the Launch Transition Agency, and a response provided in two business days where possible.
