Industry Reference Group

The purpose of the Industry Reference Group (IRG) is to advise on improvements to the NDIS, which support development of a competitive market of innovative supports and services, and empower participants to achieve their goals in inclusive communities and workplaces, with particular reference to:

  • participant readiness to navigate new markets and consumer empowerment 
  • provider readiness to operate in markets and the transition to a market-based system for service providers 
  • initiatives for developing the disability workforce to support the emerging market
  • interface challenges with mainstream services impacting sustainability and performance of the NDIS
  • pricing strategy and approach
  • provider payments strategy and processes
  • market signalling to promote opportunities and address emerging issues
  • market intervention options to address thin markets, including in remote Indigenous communities
  • arrangements for maintaining critical supports, including times of crisis
  • the provision of housing options for people with disability, including supply of Specialist Disability Accommodation 
  • intermediary services and their influence on the development of the market
  • initiatives that foster innovation, growth and competitiveness 
  • NDIA performance data

Membership

IRG's membership is comprised of CEOs or equivalent, from industry bodies, professional associations and mature strategic alliances with national reach along with consumer representatives. This includes representatives from:
