As we finish our surveys and consultations, we’ll report back on what we’ve found. Below are our latest reports:
School leaver participant survey report
We conducted a survey of participants who received school leaver employment supports in 2018-2019 to understand their experience, the outcomes they achieved and what they thought could be improved.
The survey outcomes report is now available.
We would like to thank the participants, their families and carers who completed the survey.

Early childhood assistive technology approach
We are pleased to share with you the outcomes of the request for information (RFI) to design an early childhood assistive technology (AT) approach.
There were 23 responses to the RFI released in June 2021.
We want to thank all stakeholders who submitted a response and everyone who continue to support the work towards improving AT options for younger participants.
You said, we heard: Post-consultation reports
We sincerely thank everyone who gave us feedback on the three consultation papers explaining proposed changes to the NDIS. You are helping us deliver a better and fairer experience for all people with disability accessing the NDIS and participants already in the Scheme.
We have reviewed your submissions and prepared post-consultation reports.
Digital Partnership Program discussion paper
We received 31 responses on the Digital Partnership Program Discussion paper published in February 2020 and have since developed a Digital Partnership Program (DPP). The DPP will manage controlled and secure access to some of the NDIA’s data and systems.
COVID-19 research project
We worked with the University of Melbourne on a survey about the changes we made to the NDIS in response to COVID-19. The survey is now closed.
The survey gave participants, their families and carers a chance to share their experience of interacting with the NDIA and the Scheme during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey has also helped us understand how NDIS participants have found using telehealth to access allied health services.
Consultation submissions
We want to thank the community for their recent submissions and feedback on the proposed reforms to ensure a fair and consistent NDIS.
We have published over 120 submissions which were received as part of the recent consultations on:
- Access and eligibility policy with independent assessments
- Planning policy for personalised budgets and plan flexibility
- Supporting young children and their families early, to reach their full potential
- Interventions for children on the autism spectrum.
Improving Support Coordination for Participants
The ‘Improving Support Coordination for NDIS Participants’ paper outlines the outcomes from reviewing the current support coordination model in the context of both the consultation process, and broader strategic design of the Scheme.
It clearly outlines the role of a support coordinator and the next steps we will take to improve support coordination for participants.
We will continue to work closely with the sector to drive better support coordination outcomes for participants through a number of initiatives with the sector, the Australian Government and our Participant Service Improvement and Corporate Plans

Partners in the community market engagement summary report
Thanks for your feedback on the partners in the community (PITC) program market engagement information paper. The paper outlines improvements we’d like to make to the PITC program. The feedback we received may help inform the development of the future PITC program.
