We invited NDIS participants, nominees and people who have previously applied to the NDIS to complete a short online survey to help us better understand:
- Experiences collecting information about a person’s disability when applying for the NDIS.
- Experiences when collecting information for planning meetings.
- Feedback on how the NDIS can improve access and planning processes.
Why did we do this survey?
We wanted to better understand the experience of gathering information for access and planning, so that we can co-design a new person-centred model.
The survey closed on Friday 12 August.
Next steps
We’re working together with people with disability and the broader disability community to improve the way that access and planning work at the NDIS.
The feedback from the survey will be analysed and turned into a report by an independent organisation.
The IGAP Steering Committee will use this report to help make decisions about how to improve access and planning processes for applicants, participants, nominees, their family and carers.
There will be more opportunities in the future to have your say. We will keep you updated about when and how you can contribute.
Acknowledgements
We are grateful to everyone who took the time to complete the survey.
Thank you to everyone who shared the survey with their networks, friends and family.
