New participant portal and app

To help deliver our new computer system, we’ve built a new participant portal called the my NDIS participant portal and have updated the my NDIS app.

my NDIS participant portal

The new my NDIS participant portal is for NDIS plans built for Tasmanian participants in our new computer system.

The new my NDIS participant portal is a more accessible and user-friendly way to:

  • view your budget
  • see your plan information and personal details
  • make and manage claims (for self-managed plans)
  • see all claims against your budget
  • see messages and correspondence from NDIA.

Before you use the new my NDIS participant portal for the first time, you need to register.

Access the my NDIS participant portal

Participants with a plan built in our new computer system can access the my NDIS participant portal through myGov.

Using myGov makes accessing the my NDIS participant portal easier and safer for participants, nominees and child representatives.

You will need to use your myGov account to access the my NDIS participant portal.

If you already have a myGov account for other government services such as Medicare, the Australian Taxation Office or Centrelink, you can use the same myGov account for the my NDIS participant portal.

If you need to link your myGov account to the NDIS:

If they do not have an existing myGov account, they will need to create a new myGov account to access the my NDIS participant portal

If you need to create a myGov account:

When you link your myGov account to the my NDIS participant portal for the first time, you will need to enter a NDIS activation code.

To get your activation code, you can either:

Once you have linked your myGov account, you can sign into the my NDIS participant portal through the:

Existing my NDIS participant portal users

The sign in process for existing participants, child representatives and nominees using the my NDIS participant portal is changing.

You can sign in to the my NDIS participant portal using the existing sign in process (NDIS number and password) or through myGov.

If you are an existing participant who has a new plan approved in our new computer system, you will use your existing myGov account to access the new my NDIS participant portal.

This is the same way you access the myplace portal.

You can still access the myplace portal to access your previous plan and related information.

my NDIS app

The my NDIS app can now be used by participants with a NDIS plan created in our new computer system. If you have a plan in the new computer system, you will notice a new design and more accessibility features.

Existing participants and app users

If you are an existing participant with a plan in our new computer system, you can continue to use the current my NDIS app version.

You do not need to download a new version of the app or re-register for the app. Your new plan will be available in the app as soon as it is approved.

The app will ask you to accept our updated Terms and Conditions and Privacy notice.

It’s a good idea to make sure you always have the latest version of the my NDIS app on your mobile phone.

You can check for updates in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store .

New participants using the app for the first time

New participants using the my NDIS app for the first time will need to download the my NDIS app.

The new my NDIS app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free.

When you sign into the my NDIS app for the first time, we will send you a code via SMS to confirm your information. This will be sent to the mobile phone number we have recorded for you.

Once you have entered the code, you will be asked to set up a PIN which you will use to sign into the app.

After signing into the app for the first time, you can set your app preferences including setting up FACE ID and Fingerprint and change your accessibility features to suit your needs.

For Tasmanian participants not involved in the NDIS test

Participants in Tasmania not involved in the test should continue to use the current myplace portal and the existing my NDIS app until their plan is reassessed or varied.

After you have a new NDIS plan created in our new computer system, it will be available in the app. You can also use the new my NDIS portal

For participants in other parts of Australia

Participants in other parts of Australia will continue to use the current myplace portal and/or my NDIS app.

The existing my NDIS app is still available for participants in other parts of Australia, or participants in Tasmania not involved in the test.
