We have been building our new computer system since late 2021. We’ve also been testing it with NDIA staff and NDIS partners for some time.

Because the computer system is being built by the NDIA for the NDIS, we have the flexibility to make any changes we need, to make sure it is working well and delivering the participant experience we expect.

We decided to do the test in Tasmania with participants, partners, providers and the wider disability community to make sure our systems and processes work as they should, and we deliver a quality experience for participants.

We chose Tasmania to test our improvements because the state’s participants represent the broader NDIS population, there are more than 500 registered providers and two experienced NDIS partners.

With the support of Tasmanian participants, staff and partners, providers and the community, we can learn from the experience of the NDIS test and collect feedback.

We can then make any changes or improvements we need to before we introduce our improvements to the rest of Australia.
