It’s hard to tell who enjoys her dance lessons more, Bianca or her mum Tabitha. Like so many little girls, Bianca loves to dance but Tabitha could not find a dance centre that would take her.

Thanks to Deakin University’s ALLPlay Dance program and the NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) National Readiness Grants, dance centres will have a resource to help create inclusive spaces for children with disabilities.

ALLPlay Dance is a national program that includes the development of a targeted, interactive resource to help children, their parents and dance teachers be more inclusive, and open up dance to children of all abilities.

‘She has developed so much,’ Tabitha said.

‘Dancing with the other children has been amazing and just to get out there in the community and do this has been absolutely wonderful.’

The NDIS ILC grants focus on community inclusion and are all about making sure our community becomes more accessible and inclusive of people with disability.

Hear from Tabitha and watch Bianca dance in the video above. For information about the National Readiness grants visit the ILC page.
