Using our website
This information is about using the NDIS website.
What we expect of you
There are some rules about using our website.
When you use our website, we expect that you will follow the rules.
The rules are based on the laws that apply in the Australian Capital Territory.
These rules do not apply to any other government website. They are just for the NDIS website.
Sometimes, we might need to change the rules. If we do that, they will be updated here.
What are the rules?
The rules are as follows:
- You can’t do anything illegal on our website.
- You can’t be rude on our website.
You can’t swear, you can’t bully people and you can’t hurt anyone else.
- You can’t damage our website on purpose.
- You can’t send us anything that could harm our website. This includes files, documents and any other material that can be sent electronically.
What you can expect of us
We will do our best to make sure that our website is working well.
We will also do our best to make sure that we keep any information about you safe.
We will do everything we can to keep our website free of computer viruses or other problems.
Unfortunately, we can’t protect our website against every possible problem that could happen.
This means that we can’t be responsible for any problems that you experience with our website.
But if you do have a problem, we will try to help you.
We suggest that you use good computer software to protect your computer.
This might include things like a firewall and virus protection software.
We also suggest that you keep these things up to date. If they are out of date, they don’t work as well.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites. These include websites for other government departments, or websites belonging to other people or companies.
We can’t control the way these websites work.
This means that, if you link to another website from our site, we are not responsible for any problems that occur.
And if we link to another website, this does not mean that we agree with the information on that website.
The information on our site
Our website has a lot of information on it.
We suggest that you think about the information carefully.
You may like to ask questions about how the information applies to you.
The information we provide is not professional advice.
You may like to get advice from someone that you trust, like a lawyer or disability service provider.
They will be able to help you work out how the information applies to you.
The way you use our site
This document explains what you can expect from us, and what we can expect from you when you use our website.
This does not change the way you can use other government services.
And it does not change the things that other government services expect from you.
Let’s look at an example.
Andy was posting nasty comments on our website.
This behaviour is wrong and Andy got in trouble from the NDIS.
But this doesn’t affect the way he uses services such as Centrelink or Medicare.
