Transition of supported accommodation

Eligible people in supported accommodation, including Commonwealth Residential Aged Care, will begin to move to the NDIS.

People in supported accommodation in Darwin Urban, Alice Springs and Katherine have begun to move to the NDIS.

Early Childhood Early Intervention

An Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach is used by the Agency when working with children aged 0 - 6 with a developmental delay or disability across the NT, in line with the NDIS rollout, based on a community by community approach.

In the Darwin Urban Service Area, we have partnered with Early Childhood Australia – Northern Territory Branch (ECANT) (external) to deliver ECEI services in the Local Government Areas of Darwin, Litchfield, and Palmerston. If you live in one of these areas and have a child aged 0-6, an ECEI Coordinator from ECANT will be your main contact point for the NDIS and can help you understand and access the most appropriate supports for your child.

If you are interested in working with our partner to deliver ECEI services you can find details about available positions by visiting the ECANT Recruitment page (external).

To find your nearest partner office, go to Our locations page.

Local Area Coordination

For most people aged seven and above living in the Local Government Areas of Darwin, Litchfield, and Palmerston in the Darwin Urban Service Area, a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) working for our Partner in the Community (partner) will be your main contact point for the NDIS.

In the Darwin Urban Service Area we have partnered with APM (external) to deliver LAC services.

If you are interested in working as an LAC in the NT you can find details about available positions by visiting the Work at APM page (external)

To find your nearest partner office, go to Our locations page.

Areas where Partners do not deliver ECEI or LAC services

If you live outside of Darwin, Litchfield or Palmerston, someone from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will work with you to connect you to the NDIS or to supports in your community.

To find your nearest NDIA office go to Our locations page.

Events

We run regular workshops and open house sessions where you can come and learn about the NDIS and ask us questions.

Go to our Northern Territory event page to book your place at one of our upcoming sessions.

NDIS participants and disaster management in the Northern Territory

The NDIA is working closely with Northern Territory Government to reduce the impact of disasters on NDIS participants with vulnerabilities or NDIS participants who may become vulnerable. Visit the Secure NT website (external) for information about supporting people with vulnerabilities in disasters.
