The Provider Quarterly Report – Youth Employment (January-December 2025) is now available. The report provides insight into employment supports delivered to 9,215 young participants and the outcomes they achieved.
The NDIA is committed to helping participants find and keep jobs. A key focus is helping young people build work skills and prepare for employment. We want to make sure they get the support they need to do this.
This report examines support delivered to 9,215 participants aged 15 to 24. It covers young people who left school and received help to prepare for work. It also includes young people who got help to gain work experience or find a part-time job while still at school.
The report highlights progress and outcomes for young people. It also looks at what providers did to support them and highlights approaches that helped more participants find work.
Key findings from the data show:
- 588 participants found paid work (open and supported employment). Most worked up to 21 hours a week in retail, hospitality, trades, tourism, manufacturing or operations.
- Providers spent 48% of training time helping participants build social, communication, presentation and work skills.
- Participation remains highest in NSW (33%), VIC (23%) and QLD (18%).
- Engagement from First Nations (7%) and CALD participants (7%) stayed steady.
Key insights:
- Participants who received more skill-specific training were more likely to make significant progress in applying those skills.
