NDIA Quarterly Report released today

The Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme today released the COAG NDIS Quarterly Report for the quarter ending 31 December 2019.

Some of the highlights of the Report include:

  • At 31 December 2019, 338,982 people with disabilities were being supported by the NDIS.
  • An additional 28,225 excluding children in the ECEI program, received approved plans this quarter for the first time.
  • Wait times for children to access the Scheme have dropped by over 58 per cent in comparison to the previous quarter. More children across Australia are gaining access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme than in the first half of the year.

Between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2019, 19,000 children received their first NDIS plan; much higher than the previous six months, when approximately 14,000 plans were issued.

The Quarterly Report is now available, along with its accompanying state-by-state data snapshots.
