The Children’s Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) met for their ninth meeting on Thursday 28 August 2025.

NDIS participants are playing a lead role in helping design and test the new way of planning for the NDIS, with the first live testing of the new Support Needs Assessment underway.

Our first meeting was collaborative, with strong engagement and a clear focus on making the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) more culturally safe, accessible, and responsive for First Nations peoples.

The NDIA wants to make sure its work is culturally safe. This means creating systems, services, and workplaces where First Nations people with disability feel respected, valued and heard.

A Whittlesea woman who was responsible for a daycare fraud ring and trained others in how to perpetrate the scheme has become the fifth and final person sentenced for defrauding the Commonwealth of $800,000.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is one of Australia’s most important social programs. The NDIS needs to be protected for people with permanent and significant disability and for future generations who will rely on it.
