The NDIA, DRCO and IAC commit to continue working together on NDIS reforms. Co-design working groups need to evolve to better reflect the broader scope of co-design work in this phase of reform.

Jane, the NDIA Co-Chair from the Children’s Taskforce shared some background on the new NDIS early intervention pathway for children younger than 9 (the new pathway), including what is in scope and out of scope of the design of the new pathway.

Jane, the NDIA Co-Chair from the Children’s Taskforce, introduced Veronica as the Parent Carer Co-Chair of the Group. The role of the Co-Chairs is to ensure everyone has a say and to keep meetings on time and on topic.

The NDIA is inviting an expression of interest from DRCOs to attend smaller group discussions to understand how diagnosis is being mapped and translated into impairment categories outlined in the NDIS Act. Topic 1: Reset of co-design for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) reforms, working group ways of working The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) discussed recent work with the sector to focus co-design work on 4 main areas – Navigation, Assessment and Budgeting, Participant Safeguarding and Participant Pathway Experience.

These extensions ensure continuing support to people with disability and NDIS participants, as NDIS reforms continue to improve the Scheme to deliver better outcomes for participants.
