The Autism Advisory Group (AAG) met on 6 July 2018. Members committed to working in partnership and to developing a trust-based and collaborative relationship within the group and with the sector more broadly. In that spirit, it was agreed that improving life outcomes for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (both participants and non-participants) should be the Group's core guiding principle. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Autism Advisory Group (AAG) met on 1 August 2019 to discuss the implementation of the recently announced Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) remediation plan to resolve delays and backlogs for children with disability in accessing supports. The AAG’s feedback on the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) ECEI approach and delays experienced by families has been instrumental in the development of the remediation plan, announced by the Minister for the NDIS, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, on 26 June 2019 . IRG Meeting: Thursday 3 September, 2020 Membership Update The IRG welcomed Leanne Pearman, Independent Advisory Council (IAC) member, Dr Leanne Beagley, CEO, Mental Health Australia, and Stephen Broadfoot, Branch Manager, Provider Engagement to the group. NDIS Update Gerrie Mitra (NDIA) provided updates on current market activities. These included the new 2020-2021 Price Guide and the 1 July 2020 introduction of the change to group support pricing arrangements, while allowing time for providers to adapt to the new structure. IRG Meeting: Tuesday 21 April, 2020 NDIA COVID-19 Update The NDIA gave an update on the measures taken in response to COVID-19. These included the temporary 10 per cent COVID price limit increases for some supports, advance payment, extension of NDIS plans, outreach to vulnerable participants, and expansion of the exceptionally complex support needs pathway. This is in addition to establishing a dedicated COVID-19 telephone line via the National Contact Centre, and creating a COVID-19 specialised action team to respond to urgent/light-touch plan reviews with 48 hours.
