NDIS in Brisbane and surrounds

Brisbane

The NDIS is now available in Brisbane City areas north and south of the Brisbane River.

This covers the local government area of Brisbane City.

Services in this region will be delivered by:

  • LAC partner - Carers Queensland Limited

Robina - includes Gold Coast and Hinterland

The NDIS is now available in the Robina, Gold Coast and Hinterland areas.

This covers the local government area of Gold Coast City.

Services in this region will be delivered by:

  • LAC partner - Carers Queensland Limited

Ipswich - includes Ipswich, Lockyer, Scenic Rim and Somerset

The NDIS is now available in Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset local government areas.

Services in this region will be delivered by:

Beenleigh - includes Logan and Redlands

The NDIS is now available in the local government areas of Logan City and Redland City.

Services in this region will be delivered by:

Caboolture/Strathpine - includes Caboolture, Strathpine and Moreton Bay

The NDIS will become available in the local government area of Moreton Bay, including Strathpine and Caboolture, from 1 January 2019. A person may meet the access requirements to become a participant of the NDIS up to 6 months prior to this date.

Maroochydore - includes Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie

The NDIS is now available in the local government areas of Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie.

Bundaberg

The NDIS is now available in the Bundaberg region.

Cairns - includes Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Tablelands, Croydon, Etheridge, Cape York and Torres Strait

The NDIS is now available in Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Tablelands, Croydon, Etheridge, Cape York and Torres Strait. Mission Australia will deliver ECEI and LAC services in the following local government areas:

The NDIS is now available in the Rockhampton, Gladstone and west to the borders region.

The NDIS is now available in the Toowoomba area and west to the borders. The ECEI partner, UnitingCare Community as well as our LAC partner, Carers Queensland Limited will deliver services in the local government areas of:

  • Murweh
  • Paroo
  • Quilpie
  • Southern Downs
  • Toowoomba
  • Western Downs

The NDIA provides planning services in the remaining areas of the Toowoomba region. This covers the local government areas of:

Townsville - includes Townsville, Hinchinbrook, Burdekin, west to Mount Isa, and up to the gulf

The NDIS is now available in Townsville, Hinchinbrook, Burdekin, west to Mount Isa, and up to the gulf. The ECEI partner, UnitingCare Community as well as our LAC partner, Feros Care will deliver services in the local government areas of:

Early Childhood Early Intervention

The ECEI approach is available to all children aged 0-6 with a developmental delay or disability in line with the roll out of the NDIS.

An ECEI Coordinator working for one of our partners will be your main contact point for the NDIS and can help you understand and access the most appropriate supports for your child.

Local Area Coordination

For most people aged 7 and above, a LAC working for one of our partners will be your main contact point for the NDIS.

Areas where partners do not deliver ECEI or LAC services

Some areas of QLD do not have partners. If you live in one of these areas, someone from the NDIA will work with you to connect you to the NDIS or to supports in your community.

Transitional Arrangements

A bilateral agreement was signed by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on 16 March 2016 for the roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Queensland. You can read the agreement on the COAG website (external). (External website)

The Operational Plan outlines how the three parties will work together to implement the NDIS in Queensland.

The Plan is made up of 20 different sections in two parts:

  • Part one is about the bilateral and national policy.
  • Part two is about administration and service delivery.

NDIS participants and disaster management in Queensland

The NDIA is working closely with Queensland Government to reduce the impact of disasters on NDIS participants with vulnerabilities or NDIS participants who may become vulnerable.
