Early Childhood Early Intervention

The ECEI approach is available to all children aged 0-6 years with a developmental delay or disability across Victoria.

An ECEI Coordinator working for one of our partners delivering ECEI services will be your main contact point for the NDIS and can help you understand and access the most appropriate supports for your child.

Local Area Coordination

For most people aged 7 and above, an LAC working for one of our partners will be your main contact point for the NDIS.

In Victoria the partners delivering LAC services are:

  • Brotherhood of St Laurence in the North East Melbourne, Hume Moreland, Bayside Peninsula, Brimbank Melton, and Western Melbourne Service Areas.
  • Latrobe Community Health Service in the Central Highlands, Ovens Murray, Wimmera South West, Barwon, Inner East Melbourne, Inner Gippsland, Outer Gippsland, Outer East Melbourne, and Southern Melbourne Service Areas.
  • Intereach in the Loddon, Mallee, and Goulburn Service Areas.

Government Agreement for Transition to the NDIS in Victoria

The Victorian and Commonwealth Governments signed a bilateral agreement for transition to the NDIS in Victoria , beginning in 2016, and agreed to an Operational Plan (PDF 244KB) for how the Scheme is funded and rolled out.

On 4 May 2013, agreement was reached between the Commonwealth and Victoria on arrangements for the full rollout of the NDIS by July 2019. The Heads of Agreement (PDF 224KB) outlines the parameters for transition to full scheme arrangements within specific timelines.
