The Supported Decision Making Advisory Group, previously referred as the Supported Decision Making Steering Committee, provides advice and oversight of the ongoing implementation and monitoring of the NDIA’s Supported Decision Making Policy.
This policy is about helping everyone understand what supported decision making is, and how we can better support people with disability to make decisions in the NDIS.
The NDIA established the Supported Decision Making Advisory Group in April 2025.
The Group provides advice to the NDIA on changes to the NDIS that impact people in the supported decision-making process. This includes through providing independent strategic advice and sharing relevant data, changes, and updates.
The NDIA has established this group as a platform for engagement with key stakeholders across the disability sector, including advocacy bodies and relevant organisations.

Membership includes representatives from the disability community, peak associations, NDIS Independent Advisory Council members and key government representatives including the NDIS Commission.
