Core supports are one of 4 support budgets in your NDIS plan. Because your plan is based on your individual needs, you might not have funding in all 4 support budgets.
Core supports help you with everyday activities and getting involved in your community.

What core supports are for
Each support budget is made up of multiple support categories. Your core supports budget can have funding in up to 3 support categories.
Assistance with daily life
This support category will have funding if you need help with daily life tasks and activities.
Depending on your goals, you might use the funding in this support category to hire support workers to help you with everyday tasks like cleaning, yard maintenance, cooking and personal care.
Consumables
This support category will have funding if you need to buy everyday items, such as continence products.
If you need low-cost assistive technology or equipment to improve your mobility or independence, like non-slip bathmats, or small devices to assist with dressing, eating, drinking or cleaning, you can use your consumables funding to buy them.
Assistance with social and community participation
This support category will have funding if one of your goals is to spend more time in your local community and get involved in group or social activities and events.
You might use this funding to pay support workers to help you become more independent to engage in your community and personal interests.
Core supports are flexible
Because your core supports funding is flexible, you can use the total amount in this budget to buy NDIS supports across and within the support categories to help you work towards your goals.
Everyone uses their core supports differently. It’s important to remember, you can only use your funding to buy the NDIS supports our rules say your funding can pay for and are in line with your NDIS plan.
