What NDIS support budgets are

There are 4 different kinds of NDIS support budgets you can have in your plan. Together, these support budgets make up your plan.

You may not have funding in your plan against all the support budgets if there’s one you don’t need. Every NDIS plan is individual.

The 4 support budgets are:

  • core supports
  • capacity building supports
  • capital supports
  • recurring supports.

What NDIS support budgets are for

Separating the support types into different budgets in your plan makes it easier for you to manage.

They help you keep track of your budget

You’ll have different funding amounts in each support budget. This helps you to know what you’ve spent and how much money you have left.

They help us know what supports are working

Different kinds of supports are separated into different budgets. This means we can easily keep track of the supports that are working for you.

You may not have funding for all of them

Each disability and situation needs different kinds of supports. You’ll only get funding in the support budgets that are relevant to your disability.

Different support budgets have different rules

Each support budget has different ways you can spend your funding. Some support budgets have flexible support categories, like in core supports. Others have stated support categories, like in capital supports. Stated supports aren’t flexible.
