NDIS available in more areas from 1 January 2019

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is now available to eligible Australians in all states and territories except Western Australia, after the Scheme rolled out in the last remaining regions and age groups across Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland on 1 January 2019.

208,000 Australians are currently accessing the NDIS.

People in the Goulburn, Mallee and Outer Gipplsand areas in Victoria, along with Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, are now able to access the Scheme for the first time.

Also in Tasmania people aged between 50 and 64 years old can now begin to access the NDIS.

The remaining areas in Western Australia will progressively join the Scheme until 2020.
