NDIS Price Guide update

The NDIS Price Guide 2020-21 has been updated and changes will be effective from Sunday 25 October 2020.

Updates include:

  • changes to the geographic classification of some locations as a result of the NDIA’s transition from the Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2015 to MMM 2019
  •  clarifying that psychosocial recovery coaches can claim for NDIA report writing
  • a new claim field of ‘Irregular SIL Supports’ in the myplace provider portal.

Geographic classifications

As announced in June 2020 as part of the Annual Price Review, the NDIS is updating geographic classifications from 25 October 2020 to align with the latest Modified Monash Model (MMM 2019).

This means that some locations have been reclassified and are now more remote or less remote than they were under the MMM 2015.

For participants in locations classified as more remote, NDIS funding will be increased to recognise the higher price for support delivery.

The NDIS will send impacted participants a plan approval letter to notify them of the increase in funding.

For participants in locations no longer classified as remote or very remote, the cost of services and supports will decrease. At their next plan review, the participant’s NDIS funding will be adjusted as the remote or very remote loadings that apply to price limits for support delivery in their area will be lower. These changes apply for services provided from 25 October 2020 onwards.

For a list of all impacted locations, please visit the Annual price review page.

Psychosocial recovery coaches – report writing claims

From 25 October 2020, psychosocial recovery coaches are able to claim for NDIA report writing under the applicable Psychosocial Recovery Coaching line items.

The previous Price Guide incorrectly made this feature unavailable to psychosocial recovery coaches. Claims for report writing can be backdated to 1 July 2020.

New ‘Irregular SIL Supports’ claim field for providers

From 25 October 2020, providers can use a new claim field in the myplace provider portal.

The NDIS Price Guide 2020-21 has been updated to include more information about claiming for irregular SIL supports.
