New data has revealed how the NDIS continued to support more Australians during 2020—a year full of unprecedented challenges from the devastating bushfires in January through to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, released the Quarterly Report to disability ministers Q2 2020-21 today.
Despite the COVID-19 environment, Queensland National Disability Insurance Scheme participants Jess (6), Eden (4) and Jake (23 months) have been able to continue their therapies online.
All aged care workers across Victoria will now be required to wear face masks. To support this requirement, the Australian Government will release a further one million masks from the National Medical Stockpile (NMS).
The NDIA is reaching out to vulnerable participants across Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire to ensure NDIS participants continue to have supports in place during COVID-19 restrictions.
Providers in WA now have more time to transition to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission). The WA Department of Communities Disability Services Provider Panel re-opened registration on 1 July 2020 and will continue to accept new applications until tender closure date, 18 September 2020, 5pm AWST.
