Changes to in-kind funding arrangements for participants in South Australia with Department of Human Services

South Australia’s Department of Human Services (DHS) currently provides Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination, Supported Independent Living and Positive Behaviour Supports to you through a funding arrangement sometimes called in-kind funding.

From 1 October 2023, these supports will be funded through your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan.

What does this mean for me?

For many of you we already have information on your current support needs. You may have had funding in your plan for an assessment if new evidence about your disability-related support needs is required.

We have contacted you about this change

We have contacted you to organise a planning meeting to discuss the upcoming changes to the way your supports are funded.

We may also have contacted you if you requested a change to another support in your plan.

Who can I talk to if I have questions?

We encourage participants to discuss this new approach with their NDIS planner or Support Coordinator.
